Cleveland, OH (February 2, 2021) – An automobile accident in the Gateway District sent two people to an area hospital with injuries. At around 3:30 p.m., authorities in the Cleveland area received the request for assistance regarding a kidnapping case. Reports show that a vehicle was identified as being involved in the kidnapping of a 15-year-old boy.
Police responded to the scene and began pursuing the vehicle, which fled the area. During the pursuit, the officer passed through the intersection of East 9th Street and Superior Avenue when it was t-boned by a civilian vehicle. The police car then crashed off the roadway.
The officer and one teen were injured as a result of this accident. Both victims were transported to area hospitals for further medical assistance. At this time, the crash remains under investigation with the police in Cleveland.
