Medina, OH (October 11, 2020) – An automobile accident reported on Wednesday morning in Medina claimed the life of one woman. Just before 11:40 a.m., on October 9, troopers with the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to the scene of an accident on Marks Road.
Reports provided by the Ohio State Highway Patrol show that 76-year-old Maria Vaida was traveling in a 2018 Toyota Corolla down Marks Road when her vehicle was struck by a commercial cement mixer at the intersection with Speith Road.
Vaida’s vehicle continued forward and went off the east side of Marks Road. Her vehicle then crashed into a utility pole. Vaida sustained critical and life-threatening injuries in the crash. She was transported via ambulance to Medina Hospital where she passed away from her injuries.
The 47-year-old man driving the cement truck was not injured in the crash. At this time, investigations are ongoing with the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
