Study Confirms that Tort Reform has Failed

Forbes Magazine has recently published a detailed study that tort reform has not improved healthcare and lowered insurance premiums as suggested. In fact, the recent study deflates other tort reform myths as well. Most notably, that tort reform would redirect the number of “frivolous lawsuits” and control “out-of-control” juries.

The reality, however, is that all tort reform has done is hurt injured families who deserve compensation after being injured in a collision by a negligent party. Despite the studies, the Ohio legislature does not have any plans to amend the current laws. In fact, more government limits could be on the way.

In my practice, I have seen firsthand how the __ in Ohio have further damaged already injured clients.
